accreditation

equipped4enterprise online resources provide schemes of work, session plans, presentations, handouts and background information to deliver the qualifications described below.

Both NCFE and ILM qualifications can be used as part of the 14-19 Diplomas. They provide the accredited enterprise learning that supports the development of Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (link to http://www.qca.org.uk/qca_13476.aspx). A mix of theory and practice, the diplomas also include Functional Skills attainment - a further element of the activities on the equipped4enterprise site.

The NCFE is a national awarding body that designs qualifications recognising the skills, knowledge and understanding achieved by a learner. In operation as the NCFE since 1991, their aim is 'to promote and advance the education and training of young persons and adults.' The NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by QCA (England), CCEA (N. Ireland) and DELLS (Wales).

  • The Level 2 Award and Certificate for Developing Enterprise Capabilities provides learners with an understanding of what enterprise capabilities are, and how they can develop their own enterprise skills.

To follow Autumn Term 2008:

  • The Level 1 Award and Certificate in Exploring Enterprise Capabilities provides a basic knowledge of enterprise skills and capabilities, allowing learners to recognise their own enterprise skills and be encouraged to be enterprising in their everyday lives.

The ILM has provided leadership and management courses to the employment sector since 2001 and is the largest player in its field. In line with its emphasis on linking learning to the workplace, it offers enterprise qualifications. A few ILM qualifications are now available for 14+ students and, with their credibility with employers, these are a valuable addition to any qualification offer for students.

  • The Level 2 Award and Certificate in Preparing for Business Enterprise gives learners the ability to assess their own suitability for starting and running an enterprise.

To follow Autumn Term 2008:

  • The Level 2 Award in Exploring Business Enterprise provides an opportunity to explore enterprise and recognise the basic skills and knowledge required to work in an enterprise.
